You’re not alone in your journey in living with hyperhidrosis or even body odor. That’s why I write all about these things and products you can use to solve the problem. Read my friend (and co-writer) Oscar’s story here.
What is Primal Pit Paste and What are Natural Deodorants?
Primal Pit Paste is a natural deodorant that was started by a mother who wanted aluminum-free, all-natural products for her and her kids. Since then, more people fell in love with the idea and this brand is now a hit, being so well-known in so many countries around the world.
Natural deodorants are those that don’t use harsh chemicals. These products usually have all-natural moisturizers and odor neutralizers like baking soda as active ingredients.
More people are now getting into this natural deodorant bandwagon and have started switching all their products.
What is Underarm Detox? The Steps Explained
You may have heard several people talking about “detoxing” their underarms. I laughed when I first heard the term because the only detox I know was juice cleansing and similar stuff.
When I got the time to finally read on it, I discovered that underarm detox is when you do certain steps to “clear” out the effects of all the chemicals you’ve used on your armpits prior to using all-natural deodorant.
Most all-natural gurus say that it takes approximately 30 days for your underarms to adjust to natural deodorants. So detoxing your pits makes the process a bit faster.
Now I will share basic steps to detox your underarms.
1. Exfoliate
You have to use gentle body scrubs to gently exfoliate the skin on the underarms, allowing for a fresh layer to absorb the natural deodorant. You can also use a dry pore brush to make sure that the dry skin gets peeled off gently.
2. Mask
You can make a paste out of apple cider vinegar and bentonite clay to gently cleanse your pores and release any toxins that may have “stuck” due to your old products.
3. Cleanse
You have to cleanse your armpits weekly to avoid any product build-up. I would suggest a gentle toner like witch hazel for your armpits. Witch hazel acts as a natural astringent, closing the pores that may have been enlarged due to the old underarm creams or even antiperspirant sticks you used before.
These simple steps can be done to make sure your transition from your old products to your new all-natural deodorant is seamless (and less stinky) as compared to a sudden change. Read more below to learn more about Primal Pit Paste and the pros and cons of using the product.

What I Like About Primal Pit Paste
1. It Has 3 Types
Primal Pit Paste or P3 as some people call it, has 3 types of deodorants. It comes in light, regular, and strong variant for you to choose from. The only difference between these products is the concentration of baking soda.
P3 suggests that you first start with the regular deodorant moving up or down the light or strong ones depending on how your skin reacts to it and how effective the products are for you.
The importance of having these three types is because people have different levels of sensitivity to baking soda. So if you have any skin problem that prohibits the use of this ingredient, it would be best to see a doctor first before buying this product.
2. It Keeps You Smelling Fresh All Day
Most reviews are so happy with this product because they say that of all the natural deodorants they’ve tried, P3 has never failed them. They just smell so fresh the whole day.
3. Doesn’t Plug Pores
Most people who have switched to all-natural deodorants used the regular or even clinical strength antiperspirant/deodorants they could buy from stores.
These clinical strength deodorant/antiperspirants plug pores, stopping the sweat from coming out. Most people obsessed with going all-natural would say that this is a bad thing as your armpits do have to sweat naturally.
4. Neutralizes, Doesn’t Cover Up
A lot of people love Primal Pit Paste because of the baking soda it has on its products. It neutralizes the bad odor compared to over-the-counter deodorants with heavy scents and chemicals made to kill bacteria and cover up the smell.

Covering up the smell means the usage of strong chemicals and perfumes. that makes me sneeze and honestly, I’d rather have a better and more natural smell than the old floral perfume smell they put on women’s deodorants.
5. Vegan
Yes! Primal Pit Paste is all-vegan, which means that this product was never tested on animals. This is a fun fact because most deodorants in the market were tested on different animals.
If you’re a true animal lover and want to use products that don’t contribute to the suffering of lab animals, then Primal Pit Paste is definitely the product for you.
What I Don’t Like About Primal Pit Paste
1. It Needs Reapplication
If you have just made the switch to using all-natural deodorants, you may have to reapply Primal Pit Paste throughout the day or risk smelling “funky”.
This would be a bit troublesome if you have school or work as you would constantly have to check if you smell good and if you need to reapply the product.
2. Dries The Skin
The product doesn’t totally dry the skin, it’s the baking soda. Some people have a bad reaction from using baking soda and this can happen if you use Primal Pit Paste as baking soda is one of its main ingredients.
3. Does Not Stop Sweat
I included this part to remind you of the difference between deodorants and antiperspirants. Remember, if you decide to switch to using Primal Pit Paste instead of your usual deodorant/antiperspirant, expect to sweat a lot.
For hyperhidrosis patients, this can be troublesome as the sweating may get out of hand. So if you have an excessive sweating problem, you may want to try another product or stick to your usual clinical or prescription products.
Conclusion
Natural deodorants are amazing and innovative products indeed. Now that you know more about them, It is now your choice if you want to make the switch. It would never hurt to try this product out as I have never read a review on it affecting the skin badly, probable just for dryness (which can be solved easily).

I love the fact that there are more solutions for people who either want to switch to all-natural products or for those who have hyperhidrosis.
