As the days go by, you hear more and more people making “the switch”, a transition from using products filled with chemicals to using more all-natural products that neutralize the bad odor your underarms have without blocking your pores.
You wonder which deodorants to use and if they’re effective in making you smell fresh all day. Well, that’s exactly why I’m here for you. I’m writing about Green Tidings, an all-natural deodorant that has had so much positive feedback that I had to see why there was a huge demand for this product.
In this Green Tidings deodorant review, I will briefly explain the difference between deodorants and antiperspirants, why this brand is awesome, and the pros and cons of using it.
I always let my readers know that they’re not alone in their journey of dealing with sweat or anything related to it. My co-writer has a story to share on him living with hyperhidrosis and how he dealt with it successfully. Check out his story here.
What Is The Difference Between Antiperspirants and Deodorants?
Deodorants and antiperspirants are two entirely different things, but most people use these terms interchangeably. This is because most companies nowadays make deodorant/antiperspirants (a combination of both) and people end up thinking that they’re one and the same.
So what’s the difference? It’s so simple. Antiperspirants reduce or stop sweat, and deodorants keep you smelling fresh by killing the bacteria responsible for the bad odor and adding fragrance to the product that keeps your underarms smelling good the entire day.
Antiperspirants, on the other hand, are usually odorless. This is because the smell is not the function of this product. Antiperspirants are made to temporarily block your sweat glands to reduce or even stop sweating wherever you apply it.
Antiperspirants have an active ingredient, aluminum chloride which is the ingredient that blocks your pores, as I have mentioned earlier.
Like deodorants, there are different types of antiperspirants. There are 4 types that I absolutely love and would like to share with you.
These antiperspirants are the common types you see in the market. Most antiperspirants in this form are also deodorants. I then realized that the deodorants I used when I was younger were actually deodorant/antiperspirants.
These antiperspirants are my favorite because they’re so easy to use. You can even use it on different parts of the body like the back or for some, the feet. It also evenly spreads the antiperspirant on the skin, using only a little bit of product compared to applying gels or creams.
This antiperspirant comes in a tube and you have to squeeze a small amount on your fingers, then spread it as even as you can on your armpits. These types of antiperspirants are my least favorite because of how you apply it on your underarms.
I dislike this type because I don’t like getting any antiperspirant on my hands as I have to take the time again to clean and wash before reapplying on the other side.
These are literally just like your regular wet wipes but instead of the usual ones with liquid and moisturizers, this one has your antiperspirant on it. It is one of my favorite types as I can bring them everywhere without having to worry about the weight because they are packed in thin, individual packets.
These wipes also last you long because nowadays, antiperspirants are made to stop your sweat for days or even for a week. So you don’t have to use or bring too much of these wipes with you when you’re on a trip.
What is Green Tidings Natural Deodorant?
Green Tidings deodorants are what I call the truly all-natural deodorants that are in the market. Not only are they aluminum and paraben-free, but they also only use essential oils and all-natural fragrances for their products.
This deodorant started when Jenny Benford, the founder decided to make all-natural deodorants after she got pregnant with her first child. This idea was already there after the loss of her sister to cancer inspired her to take up natural medicine.
Green Tidings was then born. Jenny decided to make not only an all-natural product but also one that gives back to society. 1% of all the sales go to charities and this brand only uses sustainably sourced ingredients.
This deodorant is also gluten-free and vegan, making it an amazing product for people with Celiac Disease, which makes it hard for people to consume anything from barley and rye, as it may damage the small intestines. I will explain later on why gluten-free is necessary for products and why people with this condition would really love this deodorant.
Below you will watch a review of a guy that uses Green Tiding and what he can say about this brand and if it is really an effective deodorant.
What are the Ingredients?
I would love to share with you the different ingredients inside every pack of deodorant you buy. I want you to see why people love this and how it is completely all-natural and toxic-free.
1. Tapioca Starch
Is the moisture absorbing component of the deodorant, it is gluten-free and comes from the cassava plant. Although it is a commonly known poisonous plant if eaten raw, the flour made out of it is actually really good for the skin. it can brighten and soften your skin after using it for quite some time.
2. Organic Coconut Oil
The coconut is indeed the “tree of life” among all plants because all its parts can be used for something. Coconut oil is beneficial for the skin because it helps moisturize and is naturally antibacterial.
3. Baking Soda
Sodium bicarbonate or baking soda is also one of the moisture-absorbing ingredients of your green Tidings deodorant. It also neutralizes, not masks the smell of your underarm. This ingredient is mined from the earth and is definitely all-natural.
4. Shea Butter
This product is sourced from only fair Trade places. Fair Trade means no slavery or unjust labor practices were used to produce this product. Shea butter comes from the nuts of the shea tree. It gives so much moisture and has some anti-inflammatory properties.
5. Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Oil
Most people have never heard of magnesium oil or magnesium chloride. This oil helps relax the muscle and soothe the pain. It is extremely helpful after you shave as it can soothe the irritated skin.
6. Candelilla Wax
This is a vegan/vegetarian-friendly alternative to beeswax. It is a moisturizer and it makes the entire product solid because it’s a natural thickener.
Pros of Using Green Tidings
1. Natural to No Smell At All
A lot of people who have been using Green Tidings always say that the smell of their deodorant is so mild and that they’ve never had problems because even when the smell disappeared, they never smelled terrible.
This is because the brand only uses organic and high-grade essential oils to make their deodorants smell good. So although the smell doesn’t last too long, you wouldn’t smell bad the whole day either because of the baking soda that acts as an odor neutralizer.
2. No Need to Reapply
Just a few light swipes on your underarm and you will stay fresh all day. The only time you may have to reapply is if you work out and you bathe after, of course, you’d have to put a fresh layer on after.
3. Smooth Application
Green Tidings deodorants are always made using the best manufacturing processes and have been checked before they reach stores or before they get delivered to you. Unlike other natural deodorants, you don’t have to worry about rough patches on the product. You just have to twist the knob, get some product out of the tube and apply on underarms. That easy.
4. Has 6 Scents (a superpower)
Pun intended. But that aside, Green Tidings has 6 scents, or shall I say variants ranging from the unscented one to different natural fragrances like lavender, orange vanilla, vetiver citrus, jasmine rose, and floral spice.
It’s amazing because you have so many options to choose from. Now who can say that all-natural deodorant is boring? Green Tidings is definitely a cut above all the brands I’ve encountered so far.
Cons of Using Green Tidings
1. Does Not Work
Sadly, a lot of people have complained that their all-natural deodorant from Green Tidings does not work at all. This may be because they really sweat too much or they might be going through the usual underarm detoxification process, which can take 5 to 30 days.
During this process, you may have to cleanse your armpit throughout the day and reapply the product as it is still getting used to not having all those chemicals blocking your pores.
2. Cyst-Like Bumps/Rashes
Bumps and redness can be a result of underarm detox as well, but it can be very very uncomfortable. Most people have experienced cyst-like bumps/rashes that had to be treated with antibacterial ointments. If you have very sensitive skin, you might want to try it on one area first because it might cause irritation.
Don’t panic when this happens because some natural product experts say that these swollen pores are normal due to your underarms cleansing itself from the years that you used chemical-filled products. Basically, your underarms are now “breathing” and need a lot of time to heal.
Green Tidings natural deodorant is one of the best alternatives you can replace your old deodorant with. It has plant-based ingredients and so many variants to choose from.
Natural deodorant is becoming so popular in the market that I notice that more and more brands keep popping up. This is good because you have a lot more choices than people had a few years ago. The key is to find the one that has the best effects on your skin.
In the event that Green Tidings doesn’t work for you, there are so many other natural deodorants to choose from.

Ready to Make a Change Now?
My name is Oscar and I am the founder and director of Stop-Sweating-Now.com and have been researching and writing about hyperhidrosis for many years.
I have been sweating excessively for the better part of my life. I looked for solutions for well over a decade, but I never found anything that lasted.
It all started when I was around 14 years of age, when I suddenly found out that I was sweating more in my armpits than I should. At first I thought it was something that would go away soon, but I was wrong.
I had given up hope and accepted to live the rest of my life being embarrassed with ugly sweat stains in my armpits.
However, after a few years of not searching for any solutions anymore, I gave it another shot. And I found what finally gave me the freedom I had longed for so many years.
After finding a solution to my problem, I decided it was important to shout out my message to those that are suffering from what I had lived with so many years.
My goal is to help people find their freedom from sweating by sharing my expertise because hyperhidrosis is an underdiagnosed condition.
People don’t know that it is a medical term and can be treated effectively.
That is why I am here: Sharing with you what I know, what works and what does not work.
